eco-bottle

this clear2o bpa-free bottle is awesome for people who do a lot of traveling. since you can't take your own water bottle through airport security, your only option is to buy a water bottle once you get through, right? well, instead - put this empty bottle in your carry-on bag and once you get through security, fill it up with tap water from the water fountain. the bottle filters tap water straight into the bottle! one filter is good for some 100-gallons of water.
save mucho money and help keep 757 plastic bottles out of landfills. cool, huh?!

local finding::pattycake bakery

a friend of mine introduced me to this fabulous vegan bakery located in columbus, ohio. they have gluten-free, 100% whole wheat, wheat-free, and all vegan sweets! yum!
not only are they a vegan bakery, but they are "green" too! pattycake bakery composts all their food waste, recycles everything they use, re-use all cardboard boxes that come into their shop, most of their packaging material is biodegradable or recylced, and their local deliveries are made via bicycle! how cool is that?!
[[p.s. check out pattycake's holiday menu::perfect little treats for this holiday season!]]

GUESS goes organic

it all began when the Invisible Children partnered with denim label GUESS back in 2006. last month, GUESS and Vanity Fair magazine unveiled the 2009 designs at the Beverly Hills event. GUESS’ 2009 designs benefiting underprivileged youth are both homespun and organic, made from edun organic cotton::grown and harvested in uganda. both sets of apparel will benefit education and economic rebuilding in the war-ravaged country of uganda.
the Invisible Children story is incredible. since it's formation in 2003, the non-profit organization has provided ugandian's with education, mentors, financial stability, redevelopment of local schools, and resettlement from the solider camps. click here to read more about the visionaries, story-tellers, humanitarians, and film-makers who developed this remarkable movement.
